Tovino Thomas, who will next be seen in Tharangam, has signed his next opposite Ahaana Krishnan. The movie, titled Luca, will go on the floors next year.

According to Mridul George, who co-wrote the script with the director of the movie Arun Bose, Tovino will play the eponymous Luca and will be seen in a never-before avatar.

"Though we cannot reveal the true genre of the movie yet, it will have a strong romantic angle. In fact, this can even be tagged a stylish romantic flick. The highlight of the movie will be Tovino's different get-ups. However, it won't be a physical change,"  says Mridul George.

He also added that Luca will be a very colourful movie, much like the first look picture released by the team.Mridul added that the draft of the story was ready in 2014, when they approached Tovino with the role.

"Even when we were writing the script, we had Tovino in our mind. He too loved the script but we were waiting for the right team to produce it. Luca will be made under the banner of Stories and Thoughts and we think it is the right time to make it. Then, we were quite sure that Tovino will emerge one of the most bankable stars," he adds.

As for the remaining cast and crew, discussions are on. Sooraj S Kurup will compose the tunes while newbie Nimish Ravi will crank the camera. Luca will be shot in a coastal area.
