Rajinikanth's fans sacrificed animals to ward off evil from Kabali's success

The film released across the world on July 22 with celebrations outside cinema halls

After learning that Kabali had earned Rs 113 crore in the initial days of its release, Rajini fans at Trichy sacrificed several goats to remove evil eyes which might affect the film's success.

The fans gathered at Thennur Ukkira Kali Temple to perform animal sacrifice to avoid any kind of evil which could become a barrier in the film's box office collection.

Once again, Rajinikanth proved that he is the 'Thalaiva' with his action drama 'Kabali' earning over Rs 300 crore so far, leaving the biggest hits of bollywood, 'PK' and 'Sultan' behind. 

Happy with the official collection recorded as Rs 335 crore worldwide, Rajini expressed his gratitute to his fans, producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu, director Pa Ranjith, theatre owners and distributors for the grand success.

"My heartfelt gratitude to all those who made 'Kabali' a huge success. From my producer to director to fans and to the media, I thank each and every one of them," Rajinikanth said in a letter issued to the media.

The film released across the world  on July 22 with celebrations outside cinema halls. Celebrations for the 4 a.m shows started with fireworks, as the tradition followed in various theatres.
