Script with 3 stories where FB is both hero and villain

KR Senthil Nathan, who directed Sivi, in 2007, is back with his next — Oru Mugathirai, which has actors Rahman, Aditi, and Suresh in crutial roles.

Senthil tells City Express, “It’s a psychological thriller where Facebook plays both the hero and the villain. The film revolves around a psychiatrist (played by Rahman), a psycho. The script has three different stories, which run parallel. Post interval, those stories intersect. How a psychology student, who falls a prey to the hacker, and comes out of it, forms the rest of the plot.”

The filmmaker adds that the content will be quite relevant to today’s youth. “Everyone is on Facebook these days. But most of us aren’t aware of the tough consequences involved in interacting with people who we do not know. Oru Mugathirai is based on an incident where a man befriends a girl using a fake facebook ID, harassing and blackmailing the latter.”

Delhi Ganesh, Meera Krishnan, Swaminathan and Chams are some of the supporting cast.

Having shot in 42 days in and around Goa, Puducherry and Ooty, the director claims that it’s not a message-oriented movie. Prem Kumar, an associate of AR Rahman has scoring the music for the film, while Saravanapandian, handles the camera work.

“We’re planning to release this by September. I am also working on another movie, Raja Magal. It’s a horror film,” Senthil informs us.
