Nayanthara’s next film is titled Kolamaavu Kokila aka CO CO. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and bankrolled by Lyca Productions, was officially announced on Friday by Sivakarthikeyan through his Twitter handle.

Talking to CE about the film, director Nelson says, “The shooting has begun from Wednesday in Chennai. The entire film will be canned in the city and its outskirts.”

Dismissing claims that the film will fall under the dark humour genre, he adds, “The film will be a mixture of crime and comedy with a liberal dose of sentiment thrown in. It can’t be said to belong to a particular genre, but I guess I can say it’ll be centred around crime.”

For now, the team has confirmed Yogi Babu as the comedian and also roped in Saranya Ponvannan for an important role. Talks are in progress to zero in on the rest of the cast. Anirudh will be composing the music for the film.
