Superhit Malayalam movie Maheshinte Prathikaram will soon get a Tamil remake. The project will be helmed by none other than Priyadarshan. Udayanidhi Stalin will play the role of photographer Mahesh, which was played by Fahadh in the original. Namitha Pramod will play Jimsi in the remake.

According to reports, the movie will be not be the exact remake of Maheshinte Prathikaram. Instead, it will be  adapted to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience.

Udayanidhi Stalin had tweeted: “Happy to announce my next project with director Priyadarshan sir! Produced by Moonshot Entertainment Santhosh Sir (sic).

The buzz is that the movie will go on the floors by July end and will be shot in the interiors of Tamil Nadu.
Priyadarshan, whose last project was the Mohanlal-starrer Oppam, is said to be directing the remake of the movie in Hindi too.

In an earlier interview, he had told Express that Viacom has acquired the  rights to remake Oppam and he will indeed be doing that project in Hindi.
