Telugu stars are handsome: Madhu Sneha

Nearly two years after she shot to fame with the song ‘Manohari’ from Prabhas starrer ‘Baahubali’, Madhu Sneha is back in Tollywood. The actress will soon be seen shaking a leg with Varun Tej in Sreenu Vaitla’s ‘Mister’.

Ask her why it took her so long to come back to Telugu films, Madhu says, “Baahubali was the first film that I was part of and it was almost like a miracle. Even today, people recognise me as the ‘Manohari’ girl; however, post ‘Baahubali’, although I did get few offers, I wasn’t sure about taking up those projects. About a month-and-a-half ago, Sreenu Vaitla took me onboard for a special song in ‘Mister.’He’s a big director and I’ve seen some of his films.”

The song, she says, is going to be a big surprise and she is all praise for her co-star Varun Tej. “He was chivalrous and friendly while shooting the song. I had a similar experience while working with Prabhas as well in Baahubali. For that matter, most Telugu actors are quite handsome and I’ve taken an instant liking to Hyderabad. It feels like home and everyone is so professional,” the actress reveals. Apparently, Sreenu Vaitla had been enquiring about her for almost a year now and this time, he insisted that Madhu should be part of the song.

“The choreography in the song is beautiful. I had to express a lot through my body movements,” she says, adding, “I’m not a trained dancer. I learnt all I know about dancing by watching Sridevi’s movies. She’s my dance guru (laughs).”
Although she started off her career in Telugu with couple of special songs, Madhu states that her heart lies in acting. “That’s what I trained for and I’m really eager to take up acting roles in Telugu and Tamil. Recently, when I was in Hyderabad for an awards ceremony, I was touched by the film’s fraternity’s generosity and I had a lot of people telling me that I should act in films and not restrict myself to songs. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for me in future,” Madhu signs off.
