NEW DELHI: Amidst Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal alleging Prime Minister Narendra Modi if taking political mileage out of the surgical strike, BJP president Amit Shah on Friday advised his rivals to dig out statements of Congress leaders after the 1971 war for liberation of Bangladesh and compare them with those of the NDA functionaries.

"Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi crossed all limits by saying that the Prime minister is doing khoon Ki dalali. He has disgraced the armed forces and 125 crores people," said Shah, while asking ".who did dalali in Bofors, Coalgate and 2G spectrum scams".

He wondred if anyone do "dalali" of the blood of armed forces. "They have tried to demoralize the armed force. When they were in power, they did not provide arms and ammunitions to armed forces," added Shah, while addressing the media for the first time after the surgical strike.

The BJP chief also reminded that whenever Congress leaders coined slogans like "maut ke saudagar (2002) and Zahar ki kheti (2014) the BJP won full mandate in the elections.

While stating that the BJP would not seek political dividends of the surgical strike, Shah said the party would surely go to the people to boost the morale of the Armed forces. "BJP and people in the country are behind the armed forces. We trust the bullets of the armed forces. No one can demoralize the armed forced," said Shah.

He also sought to ask the critics to look into records to find out what the Congress leaders had said at the times the 1971 war. "None of us have made any political remarks," said Shah, while seeking to ask the Congress vice president "why are you not enthused...why don't you feel pride" . He added that there appears doubt on the the basic political thought process of the Congress leaders.

Shah also said that the prevailing upheaval in Pakistan are proof enough of what India has done to the sponsors of terrorism. He also stated that the BJP had assured people during 2014 Lok Sabha elections that the borders would be secured which the Modi government has fulfilled.
