Congress rally is 'Parivar Akrosh' not 'Jan Akrosh': Amit Shah

Amit Shah on Sunday tore into the Congress party, saying that the 'Jan Akrosh' rally organised by the latter was, in reality, a 'Parivar Akrosh' rally.

NEW DELHI:  Slamming the Congress, the BJP chief Amit Shah on Sunday said that on a day when the nation is celebrating power for every single village, the main Opposition party is mourning the loss of power of one family. The BJP chief asked the Congress leaders to read the news report of each village having been electrified before they headed for the rally in the national capital.

The Congress on Sunday held the “Jan Akrosh rally” at the Ramlila Ground where the party president Rahul Gandhi asserted that people in the country were miffed at the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre. The BJP claimed that it wasn’t a “Jan Akrosh rally” but “Parivar akrosh rally”.“A dynasty and their courtiers, who were sent out of state after state by jan adesh (people’s orders) now pretend to represent jan akrosh (people’s anger). Today’s Congress rally is nothing but parivar akrosh rally, which highlights their increasing irrelevance,” Shah said in a series of tweets.

The BJP leaders, while trumpeting the claim of all villages in the country having been electrified on Saturday, sought to showcase the development credentials of the Modi government against the “lack of development in the last 60 years of the Congress rule”. “During today’s Parivar Akrosh rally, you will see abject India hatred on display. After all, the Congress cannot digest that 125 crore Indians have seen through their (Congress’) anti-development and highly divisive politics. The Congress’ attempts to create divisions are fully exposed,” added Shah.

The BJP chief expressed hope that Rahul Gandhi would apologise for “trampling every institution in the country”. “Why did the Congress not allow the functioning of the Parliament? Why did the Congress not allow the formation of the OBC Commission, which could have given justice to the OBC communities,” Shah asked. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters that the Congress president is day-dreaming of coming to power at the Centre.
