Swaraj India President Yogendra Yadav on Wednesday accused the Narendra Modi government of targeting his family, allegedly in retaliation for his launching an agitation for Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers.

The income authorities today raided the hospital of Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav's sister in Rewari.

Agency reports stated the I-T team recovered about Rs 22 lakh cash during raids, which, the reports added, were done after it was detected that the owners allegedly made cash payments to a Nirav Modi firm for purchasing jewellery.

A senior police official said that the income tax official did not take help of the local police during the raid.

Yadav took on to Twitter and alleged that sleuths of income tax department raided at his sister's hospital as he is being targeted by the Union Government in order to `silence' him.

Using the social platform Twitter, Yadav took on the central government alleging that the raids at his sister's hospital is due to the fact that he took the cause of farmers and liquor vends, as he tweeted, Modi regime now targets my family.

Two days after my 9-day Padyatra in Rewari and launching of agitation for MSP (minimum support price) and against liquor thekas (shops), a massive IT raid is on at the hospital-cum-nursing home of my sisters in Rewari," he wrote.

Alleging that his family is being targeted, he also tweeted, "Pl(ease) search me, my home, why target my family?''

In another tweet, he wrote, "About 100+ force from Delhi raided hospitals at 11 am today. All doctors (my sisters, brother in law, nephew) detained in their chambers. Hospital sealed, including ICU for newly born babies. A clear attempt to intimidate.

Modiji you can't silence me.'' Coming in support of Yadav, Congress Member of Parliament from Rohtak Deepender Singh Hooda tweeted, "I condemn this act of vendetta politics on @_YogendraYadav 's family in Rewari by BJP goverment.@_YogendraYadav has always been in different political party but no doubt I have always heard good things about his family in Rewari: this is uncalled for.''

Yadav and senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan founded Swaraj Abhiyan after they were expelled from Aam Aadmi Party in 2015 for anti-party activities. Sources said that that the IT team which raided the hospital of Yadav's sister did seek any local help of the local income department officials.

Social media was flooded with solidarity messages for Yogendra Yadav with a number of activists, journalists and opposition politicians expressing shock at the "vendetta" action.
