Kolkata, Dec 10 (PTI) Curtains will go up on the 3rdKolkata International Wildlife and Environment Film Festivalwith the screening of Oliver Goetzl's 'Jungle Book Bear' onDecember 15.

Magsaysay Award winner Prakash Amte will inauguratethe three-day festival in which 60 films from across the worldwould be screened, festival director Aditya Lal Mukherjeesaid.

Prakash Amte and his wife Mandakini who run a wildlifeorphanage and sanctuary for animals in Maharashtra would beconferred life time achievement award by the festivalorganisers, DESHAM.

Directed by German film maker Oliver Goetzl, theinaugural film 'Jungle Book Bear' is a 50-minute movie basedon the timeless Rudyard Kipling fiction 'Jungle Book'. It hasthe voice narration by David Attenborough.

The films will be shown in six categories - FeatureFilm, Short Film, Animation Films, Documentaries, PublicService Announcements and Students' Film, a new category,Veteran actress, film rights activists and chiefadvisor of the festival Debashree Roy said no entry fee wouldbe required to watch the films in the six venues.

The selected films are from countries such as France,Mongolia, Iran, the USA, the UK, Germany, Poland, Hungary,Guatemala, Canada, Russia, Greece, Nepal, Israel and India.
