Puducherry, Oct 10 (PTI) Puducherry Lt Governor KiranBedi and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, who have been atloggerheads over a host of issues, today launched separateanti-dengue campaigns on the outskirts of Puducherry.

Launching the campaign in Mudaliarpet, Bedi walkedthrough the streets urging people to remove garbage and keepthe environment clean.

A release from Raj Nivas said the former IPS officerappealed to residents to ensure that there was no room formosquitoes to breed.

She was accompanied by District Collector E Vallavanand other officials.

On the other hand, Narayanasamy launched the campaignin Nellithope to educate the people on the need to eradicatemosquitoes and protect themselves from the vector-bornedisease.

He sprayed anti-mosquito repellent in some drains.

He was accompanied by Puducherry`s Special representative inNew Delhi A John Kumar.

The chief minister appealed to the people to keeptheir homes and environment clean.

Narayanasamy was elected from the Nellithope assemblyconstituency in the bypoll last year.

Bedi had recently expressed concern over increase indengue cases in the Union Territory.

Narayanasamy had, however, said the dengue menace wasunder control and that anti-mosquito drive had beenintensified at all levels and adequate supply of drugs andequipment were available. PTI CORBN.
