GUNTUR: Making his intention clear to develop the new capital city Amaravati as the world class beautiful city, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said it would be more thriving centre of economic activity and Tenali would be part of that development.
Participating in ‘Janmabhoomi - Maa Vooru’ programme in Chenchupet locality of Tenali town in Guntur district on Monday, he said Tenali part of the capital region would be developed as a major city with much emphasis on economic activity and employment generation.
He said his vision was clear and mission was to ensure the state had the best capital city in the world, which is a thriving hub of economic activity, but to make it happen, public cooperation and contribution was a must.
Explaining about the welfare measures being implemented by the government for the benefit of poor and downtrodden, he said the government despite facing financial constraints was continuing with the welfare schemes. He reiterated that the first phase works of Polavaram project by 2018 and elaborated on how LED bulbs have brought down power consumption in the state. Asserting that Amaravati would be an educational hub, the Chief Minister said that most of the reputed universities are showing interest to set up their branches in the new capital city and for that reason Private Universities Act was brought in.
Taking a dig at the previous Congress government, he said that the Rajiv Gruhakalpa housing was such that beneficiaries refused to enter those houses. “But, our government would provide houses that are fit for living and would have more comfort,” he said.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled a pylon relating to several development works in Tenali town to a tune of `150 crore. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Culture Milk Products Block constructed by Sangam Dairy at a cost of `20 crore in Vadlamudi in Chebrolu mandal of Guntur district and owed to take steps to keep AP on top in milk production in the nation.
Stating that AP already stood top in aqua production, he said: “Milk production, too, would be increased in the state as the government lent enough support to the dairy farmers and hinted at taking a decision to bring out a law to ensure food protection to cattle on the lines of food security bill.”
