Union minister Suresh Prabhu adopts freedom fighter Alluri’s village

The process of planning of village will be done by the panchayat under supervision of the collector.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Union Minister of Railways and Rajya Sabha member from Andhra Pradesh, Suresh Prabhu has adopted Pandrangi village of Padmanabham  mandal for development, under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. The minister has asked Visakhapatnam collector Pravin Kumar to initiate the necessary measures towards achieving the goal.

Pandrangi village is the native place of revolutionary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, who had fought against the British for the rights of Adivasis and Independence of the country.

Budgetary sanctions will be made from the MPLADS fund of Suresh Prabhu for the development of the village. The programme also envisages achieving mutual-cooperation, self reliance, transparency and accountability in public life, with an effective local self-government.  

The MP will guide the villagers for social mobilisation and improving all development parameters by creating the needed infrastructure, apart from protection of environment.

A specially designed capacity building programme will be undertaken by the Union Ministry of Rural Development for proper implementation of government schemes at different levels.

Welcoming the Union minister’s decision, Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu said the historical village Pandrangi would soon be developed on all fronts to become a model village in the country.
