Syndicate Bank ATM robbed in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district

The incident came to light when some people went to the ATM to withdraw money and saw that it had been forced open using gas cutters.

KURNOOL: Unidentified miscreants robbed a Syndicate Bank ATM in Yemmiganur town in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh and decamped with Rs 17.35 lakh in the small hours of Thursday.

The incident came to light when some people went to the ATM to withdraw money and saw that it had been forced open using gas cutters. Bank officials and police were alerted. According to police, the robbers wore masks, closed the shutters of the ATM and disconnected the CCTV cameras.

The ATM does not have any security guard. Moreover, it is located not far from a police station. Adoni DSP K Srinivas Rao visited the spot. Dog squads, Clues and forensic teams have been pressed into service. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
