GUNTUR: Linde’s food laboratory and training center will help the Indian food processing industry to capitalise on food preservation technology and can help it earn higher revenue from local produce, Minister for Industries N Amarnath Reddy said here on Tuesday.

The minister inaugurated Linde India’s first food laboratory and training center in the entire South Asia and ASEAN countries here at Mangalagiri in Guntur.  On the occasion, he said the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh was working relentlessly to develop the capital city, Amaravati.

He said the state was blessed with abundant natural resources for agriculture and aquaculture, which is an important feature for food processing industry to thrive. It will help AP earn good returns by properly utilising the technology. The training at the hub is expected to assist the local industry to implement these technologies, which will improve the quality of their product and yield. Moloy Banerjee, head of Linde Gases in South Asia, said: “We have a long heritage of partnering with India and its people for more than 80 years. He said the Linde India food laboratory and training centre will help the Indian food processing industry capitalise on food preservation technology.”

Andhra Pradesh was the first choice when it came to finalising on the location for the laboratory, he said. The state government provided us with prompt support and ease of doing business. Guntur has a high concentration of firms involved in the food processing industry, which is why we decided to set our laboratory in AP.”
