VIJAYAWADA: Singapore Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat has assured Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that financial institutes and banks of Singapore will extend support to AP.

As part of his visit to Singapore on Tuesday, Naidu called on Heng Swee and sought the cooperation of Singapore in skill development and commerce issues.

The Chief Minister sought the Singapore Minister to take initiative for extending loans from Singapore banks to the State at low interest rate. “Not only financial assistance, I also wish to have Singapore government as partner in the growth of business in AP,” Naidu told Heng Swee.

Responding positively to the appeal made by Naidu, the Singapore Minister apart from extending loan to AP, assured to extend the necessary support and funding assistance for development infrastructure in AP. He said favourable conditions would  be created to increase air connectivity between Singapore and AP.

Expressing happiness over associating with AP in skill development and financing the projects being taken up by the State government, he said they were feeling delighted over designing the capital city.
He also likened Naidu to Singapore’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
