Andhra Pradesh is ODF now, declares CM Chandrababu Naidu

TIRUPATI: AP now is Open Defecation Free (ODF) State. Announcing this here on Thursday, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said the State achieved the national cleanliness goal by constructing 2.77 lakh individual toilets. “AP stood first among all the States in the country and achieved ODF status,’’ Naidu said.

As part of his tour in Chittoor on Thursday, Naidu unveiled a plaque as a mark of achieving top place in the country by constructing 2.77 lakh toilets. He explained the efforts of the government in achieving ODF and construction of toilets within the stipulated time. A documentary film explaining the efforts made to reach ODF goal was also screened on the occasion. 

“We have completed the task of constructing toilets but they have to be used by every individual. For that, the administration has to take up some awareness programmes,’’ the Chief Minister said.
Naidu also unveiled a plaque to mark the launch of 17,064-km length of CC roads in the State. 

Deekshitulu meets Jagan, CM sees red
Vijayawada: In a development that is sure to raise many an eyebrow, former TTD chief priest Ramana Deekshitulu met YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday. He told a news channel that he met Jagan to get justice for hereditary priests. Reacting to the meeting, CM Chandrababu Naidu said the two were hatching another conspiracy.
