Andhra Pradesh: Panel to probe charge against ACSR Medical College professor for sexually harassing a girl

Meanwhile, ACSR Medical College authorities have constituted a committee to probe the allegations against him that he had been sexually harassing girl students for the past two years.

NELLORE: Following the attack on V Chandrasekhar, an Associate Professor of ACSR Government Medical College here on Thursday, for allegedly sexually harassing a girl, more students have come forward to lodge complaints against him to the principal.

Meanwhile, ACSR Medical College authorities have constituted a committee to probe the allegations against him that he had been sexually harassing girl students for the past two years. He was attacked on the college premises while he was in a meeting with the Nellore Government General Hospital Superintendent and others.

When the girl, who is a final year student, informed the matter to her parents and relatives, they barged into the meeting hall and picked up an argument with Chandrasekhar. After a heated argument, Pragna, cousin brother of the girl,  attacked him.

On being informed, the police took Pragna into custody and shifted him to Dargamitta police station. A case under Section 354-A of the IPC was registered against Chandrasekhar.

The police also registered another case against Pragna for causing bleeding injuries to Chandrasekhar. The committee formed to probe the matter, would submit its report to the Director of Medical Education, said D Nirmala, in-charge principal.
