BENGALURU: JD(S) president H D Kumaraswamy fired yet another salvo against the BJP, this time about the money seized at the gates of Vidhana Soudha four days ago.
At an event in Hassan on Monday, Kumaraswamy once again taunted the BJP, saying that State BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa has all the answers about the Rs 1.97 crore that was recovered.
It can be recalled that advocate Siddharth, who was driving the car with the money, had earlier been part of the legal team which had represented Yeddyurappa in corruption cases.
BJP spokesperson Suresh Kumar said, “We did not expect a former chief minister and someone in his position to make such an irresponsible statement. This is his usual hit-and-run saying.”
Kumar said connecting Yeddyurappa with Siddharth because the latter had once represented the BJP leader was a stretch of imagination. “Most likely, the JD(S) is dismayed because of the large gathering of SC and ST communities in Lingasugur of Raichur district for the BJP event. His statements are politically motivated,” he said.
“We did not question (Kumaraswamy) on how much money he spent on his son’s film. It was shot entirely overseas. We will not question him now either because it has nothing to do with healthy politics.”
