Major scam in filling potholes: B S Yeddyurappa

MANGALURU: BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa said on Sunday that he smells a major scam in the government’s exercise of filling potholes in Bengaluru city. Despite spending a whopping `4,600 crore on pothole filling, there is not much improvement in the condition of roads. With the same amount, all roads in the capital could have been concretised, he said.

He alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s involvement in corruption is such that he has even not spared to make money out of sweeping machines purchase. In reply to Siddaramaiah’s statement that he will quit politics if corruption charges against him is proved, he said the party will place all documents in the legislative session that begins on Monday.   

He also accused Siddaramaiah of modifying the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) into an institution that gives a clean chit and dared to hand over all corruption charges against his government to the CBI or an enquiry by a retired High Court judge if he is really clean.  

Speaking to reporters here before starting his hectic day in which he addressed three Parivartana rallies in Udupi, he said the real colour of Siddaramaiah and his government will be out if there is a real probe.
Yeddyurappa said despite several complaints against the Chief Minister to ACB, there has been no FIRs or probe on them.

‘BSY is spreading lies’

Mangaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday accused BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa of spreading lies against him as he has no issues to talk about the current government. Speaking to reporters, he maintained that his government is free of corruption. On Yeddyurappa’s statement that his party will release documents in legislative session to prove corruption charges against him, he asked: “Are there any FIRs against me? What does he have to say about going to jail during his tenure?” On the allegation that he has covered up cases filed against him in ACB, he said even CBI has covered up cases.
