Kerala: Five girls in Badiadka government school allege sexual abuse by teacher

KASARGOD: Five girl students of class 6 and 7 in a school in Badiadka police limits in Kasargod district have alleged sexual abuse by a teacher, in a letter found in the complaint box of the school.

According to Badiadka inspector Babu Peringath, the girls had dropped their written complaint in the complaint box of the government-run school, which was found by the headmaster. Subsequently it was forwarded to Childline, a round-the-clock helpline for children in distress.

The children reportedly told the counsellors of Childline that the teacher attempted to sexually abuse them for three continuous days in the last two weeks.

Based on a complaint filed by the parents of the girls, Badiadka police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
