THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister K K Shylaja has asked the health secretary to take appropriate action against the doctors who allegedly flawed in providing treatment to the five-year-old girl child, allegedly abused in Pathanamthitta.  She asked the secretary to go through the reports filed in the issue and take action against the alleged doctors.

It is known the Pathanamthitta District Collector has filed a report to the health secretary stating the doctors at the District Hospital have made serious flaws in examining the abused child. It was reported the child who was accompanied by the police was made to wait for more than six hours.

The incident happened on September 15.  The report has recommended action against the two doctors for dereliction of duty.
