Will Pinarayi take responsibility for murders?: Amit Shah slams Kerala Chief Minister

Addressing the valedictory function of the Jana Raksha Yatra, he said the majority of the murders happened in the native district of Pinarayi.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the continuing political murders in the state, BJP national chief Amit Shah said here on Tuesday he should explain whether he would take the moral responsibility for the murder of 13 BJP/RSS workers ever since he became the Chief Minister.

Addressing the valedictory function of the Jana Raksha Yatra, he said the majority of the murders happened in the native district of Pinarayi.Wherever Communists had come to power they had a  style of annihilating political opponents, whether in West Bengal, Kerala or Tripura.  The Jana Raksha Yatra had created a history of sorts with the massive participation of people, he said. “Pinarayi has stopped proceeding with action against the Congress leaders found  guilty in the solar scam.  He should explain the reason for that,” he said.

If the Congress had ruined itself by indulging in graft, the CPM would invite its doom for unleashing violence against opponents. He took exception to Yechury’s statement that it was undemocratic to take out marches to the office of a political party.

He was also critical of the double standard of the so-called human rights activists.  “These so-called human rights activists who play up every small incident of rights violation by coming to Vijay Chowk to observe candlelight vigil have never ever lit a candle to express solidarity with the families of the  13 RSS and BJP workers butchered under the LDF rule,” he said.

Amit Shah assured the families of the ‘balidanis’ that the party would never allow their sacrifices to go waste. All those accused in the murder of BJP and RSS workers would be brought to book, he said. State president Kummanam Rajesekharan, who led the 15-day yatra, said the CPM and Congress leaders had become restless over the massive support received for the yatra.

He ridiculed KPCC president M M Hassan who had been dead against hartal calls for personally leading a hartal to torpedo the yatra. “It is time for the Congress leaders to bury their faces in shame in the wake of the solar scam inquiry report.  The Chief Minister, who is protecting a corrupt minister like Thomas Chandy, cannot speak of morality and value-based politcs. Moreover, the CPM has made the first accused in the burning of two people to death in Palakkad the party branch secretary” he said.
