PATHANAMTHITTA: Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan has said that a comprehensive master plan will be prepared to preserve and protect the heritage of Aranmula.
He was delivering the valedictory address at the national seminar on 'The heritage of Aranmula: Strategies and challenges', at Aranmula here on Friday. He said the master plan will be prepared by taking into account the suggestions of the experts from the National Institute of Heritage Studies, ASI, National Museum Institute of India, National Museum of Natural History, etc.
As part of the conservation and preservation of Aranmula Heritage, centred around Aranmula Lord Parthasarathy temple, the unique Uthrittathi Jalolsavam with the participation of 52-odd snake boats, “vallasadya” and “Aranmula Kannadi” will be given thrust, Kummanam said.
A long-term plan for the rejuvenation of the Pampa, the rich agriculture culture of Aranmula, and the protection of the environment will come under the comprehensive plan, he said. Also on the cards will be Aranmula Heritage Deemed University, a museum for replicas of masterpieces of Indian arts, including murals, and an Institute for Heritage of Aranmula.
