Kerala Police issue lookout notice for missing realtor Bindhu

The notice will be pasted in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The investigation team has extended the probe to Salem where the fake ID card used for land dealings was allegedly made, officials said.    

ALAPPUZHA:  The Special Investigation Team probing the case of missing realtor Bindhu, 46, hailing from Kadakarapally has issued a lookout notice, extending the hunt to neighbouring states.As per the notice, Bindhu went missing on August 10, 2013. The notice says she was of medium complexion, curly hair and lean, as well as fluent in Malayalam, English, Tamil and Kannada. The notice will be pasted in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The investigation team has extended the probe to Salem where the fake ID card used for land dealings was allegedly made, officials said.    

Meanwhile, a bail plea filed by Sebastian, a native of Pallippuram, the prime accused in fraud case relating to the land dealings in the name of Bindhu, was dismissed by the District and Sessions Court, on Thursday.
While the date of the verdict on the bail application filed by another accused T Mini, Kuruppamkulangara, who signed the fake land documents feigning as Bindhu was posted to July 2.The cases related to the missing realtor are being looked into by three teams led by two Deputy Superintends of Police (DySP). 

The team led by Cherthala DySP is conducting the probe into the fraudulent activities in the name of Bindhu while another team led by A Nasim, DySP, Narcotic Cell, is entrusted with probing the missing case. The third team has been constituted to gather scientific evidence.

Earlier, the two accused - Govindankutty Menon, 79, Arakkalparambil House, Edapally of Ernakulam district and Shilji P Kurien, Parassery House, Pallippuram - were arrested for forgery. They were sent to judicial custody.  The investigation began after Bindhu’s brother P Praveen Kumar, settled in Italy, registered a case with the Pattanakkad Police in May this year. Bindhu, who is single, was staying alone at Padmanivas, Alumkal Junction, Kadakarapally, after the death of her parents. She sold ancestral properties worth crores of rupees that she had received from her parents.

Autorickshaw driver commits suicide
Alappuzha:  A 47-year-old autorickshaw driver, who was allegedly called by the investigation team of the Bindhu missing case for questioning, was found hanging in his residence on Thursday. According to his friends, Manoj, 46, Thykottathil, Pallippuram, Cherthala, was called by the police team on Wednesday for questioning in connection with the missing case of the realtor. Manoj’s auto was allegedly used before by Bindhu on many occasions. So Manoj was directed by the police to appear before them on Thursday noon. But he was found hanging on Thursday morning, said his friend. His funeral was held on the premises of his on Thursday evening.  However, the investigation team members were not available for comment.
