Mahurat of Mu Diwani To Pain

The mahurat of upcoming Odia film Mu Diwani To Pain took place recently. Produced by Debendranath Sahoo under the banner of Shakti Productions, Manoranjan Sahani has penned the dialogues, Adhi Raj the music, Arun Mantri the lyrics and the direction is by Manoranjan Pal. The film stars Bulu, Jyotiprakash Tripathy and Mumbai based Odia actress Jyoti Pani.

Ipsita Pati in Hindi film Chor Bazaari

Odia glam girl Ipsita Pati is all set to enter into Bollywood with upcoming Hindi flick Chor Bazaari, starring opposite Ankit Narayan. The movie is being directed by Rajiv S. Rui of My Friend Ganesha fame. The film also stars Mukesh Tiwari. Ipsita who has won the title of Miss Intercontinental India in the year 2011 was crowned People’s Choice Femina Miss India in 2012.

Sapanara Naika

After Chanda Na Tume Tara, actor Manoj Mishra is again teaming up with Deepak for Sapanara Naika. Manoj will be seen playing a humourous yet corrupt cop in the film that also stars Sritam Das and jatra veteran Daitari Panda. Directed by Raj Pradeep who is debuting as a director, the film is being produced by Rabindra Panda. The story is by Bijay Laxmi Panda while Rajani Ranjan has penned the dialogues. Prasant Padhee scores the music for the film which has been majorly shot at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri. The film produced under the banner of Excel Movies has Pinki, who had made her debut in Tu Mo Arambha Tu mo Sesha made under the same banner, in the lead role. The film is likely to hit theatres this week of May.

Mu To Hero Tu Mo Heroine

Well known comedian of Odia cinema Papu aka Papu Pampam will be playing the lead role in  Mu to Hero Tu Mo Heroine besides Minaketan and Vinod. The story of the film revolves around the Odia jatra world. To be directed by Bhagat Singh, Deepak  Jena has penned the dialogues for the movie that is scheduled to hit the  floors in the last part of this month. The leading lady of the movie has not been finalised yet.

Pitobash Tripathy in Hollywood movie

Mumbai based Odia actor Pitobash Tripathy will be seen in a Hollywood flick Million Dollar Arm directed by Craig Gillespie and produced by Mayhem Pictures. The movie is about a sports  agent who stages an unconventional recruitment strategy to get talented Asian cricket players to play Major League Baseball. Apart from the foreign cast and Pitobash, Life of Pi actor Suraj Sharma is also in the movie. The movie is currently under production and shooting is on at Atlanta, Georgia, USA and India.

Mahurat of Bhaunri-The Sinking Reality

The mahurat of Odia film Bhaunri-The Sinking Reality was held recently at Bhubaneswar. Produced by Atis Kumar Rout under the banner of Ritu Priya Productions Private Limited and directed by Sudhansu Sahoo, the film revolves around a love story with effects of art cinema. Arindam and Bengali actress Biditia are in the lead role while Mihir Das  and Asit Pati comprise the rest of the cast. Sudhansu Sahoo’s Odia film Swayamsidha was selected  for screening in Indian Panorama at IFFI.
