Government Invites Chinna Jeeyar Swamy for Pushkarams

HYDERABAD: Hindu seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, who was invited by the State government to participate in the Godavari Pushkarams, said Sunday that his volunteers under the banner of Vikasa Tarangini will extend help to the government for the smooth conduct of the mega event.

Advisor to the State government Dr K V Ramanachary and other officials visited Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s ashram at Muchintal in Shamshabad mandal to formally extend the invitation.  The government has constituted an invitation committee for Godavari Pushkarams, headed by Ramanachary, to invite seers and pontiffs.

Speaking to the official delegation, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy suggested that it would be apt to begin the Godavari Pushkarams from Bhadrachalam, where Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple is located. Ramanachary told the preacher he would convey his views to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Speaking to the media persons later, Ramanachary said the government was making foolproof arrangements for pushkarams beginning on July 14. He said the government has already taken up construction of ghats and is constructing 107 ghats at various places on the banks of Godavari. “The government has sought advice from Swamiji on the conduct of pushkarams and is making all efforts to conduct the pushkarams successfully. Many civic amenities are planned at Bhadrachalam, Mancherial, Dharmapuri, Nizamabad and other places,’’ he said.
