MEIL completes phase-I early

HYDERABAD: The Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd (MEIL) completed first phase of Mission Bhagiratha ahead of scheduled time in Gajwel Assembly segment. The scheme will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 7.

According to a MEIL press release issued on Friday, they made use of their limited resources and advanced technology to complete the Gajwel segment before deadline. Drinking water connections were provided to 66,837 households in Gajwel Assembly segment. Pipelines were laid for a distance of 1,520 km. Theproject was completed at a cost of Rs 548.40 crore.

The company will also execute works relating to pipeline set up in villages and operation and maintenance of service reservoirs for a period of 10 years.

The project will make use of the primary water resource of Godavari pipeline in Yellampally from Kondapaka water treatment plant to utilise 20 million gallons per day.

The latest Fixed Flow Valve technologywas used to ensure that every household receives water with constant pressure. It was used for the first time in the country in Mission Bhagiratha, MEIL said.
