Schedule for Telangana State Common Entrance Test 2017 announced

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) on Thursday released the schedule for Telangana State Common Entrance Test 2017. Chairman T Papi Reddy announced that the exams will be conducted by between May 6 and May 30.

Below is the detailed schedule:

- The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test-2017 (TS-EAMCET) will be held by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTUH) on May 12.

- Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS-ECET) will be held on May 6th by JNTUH. 

- Physical Education Common Entrance Test (TS-PECET) will be conducted by Osmania University from May 16 onwards.

- OU will also conduct Education Common Entrance Test (TS-EDCET) on May 28, apart from conducting Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) from May 30 onwards.

- The Integrated Common Entrance Test (TS-ICET) will be held on May 18 by Kakatiya University, Warangal. The KU will also conduct Law Common Entrance Test(TS-LAWCET) and Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test(TS-PGLCET), both exams on May 27, 2017.

All the tests are being held for admissions into undergraduate, postgraduate professional courses BE/BTech, B.Pharmacy, MBA, MCA, B.Ed, UGDP Ed, BPEd, LLB, ME/MTech, MPharmacy, MPlanning courses offered in government, univeristy, private aided, unaided, minority and non-minority institutions in the state of Telangana for the year 2017-18.

Marred with major controversies of question paper leak in TS-EAMCET 2016, the government had to cancel the exams and order a Crime Investigation Department probe. The investigations, which are yet to be concluded, have found network of accused functioning from all across the country. As many as 50 persons have been found involved in the conspiracy. Further, recently, on January 2, 2017, one of the main accused in the case had complained of chest pain and died while in the
police custody of CID.
