Google India, Telangana government to sign MoU on digitisation

Google India and the Telangana government signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on digitisation efforts in the State in New Delhi on Friday.

HYDERABAD: Google India and the Telangana government signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on digitisation efforts in the State in New Delhi on Friday.


The announcement was made after IT Minister KT Rama Rao met representatives of Google India. The company will provide Google Cloud credits and access to all cloud platform products to eligible startups engaged with T-Hub initiative.


Google through its Developer Relations team will provide technical mentorship and advisory support to startups.


Other initiatives as part of the agreement include, making all government sites mobile friendly and introducing programmes to help local small and medium businesses to create a safe online presence. 


Google India will introduce courses on Android Fundamentals for students pursuing B Tech/BE and MCA to enligthen them on mobile app development.


As part of the Google Cultural Institute project, the company will work to create a digital repository of the architectural and cultural heritage of the state, its history and imagery and make it accessible globally.   
As part of the MoU, Google India and the TS government will work on promoting digital literacy among rural women
