HC moved against AP cops for not booking Kancha Ilaiah

HYDERABAD: Two petitions were filed before the High Court seeking declaration as illegal the non-registration of a case by the Kanigiri police against Kancha Ilaiah for his alleged writings of provocation which led to a great disturbance and chaos in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.One of the petitioners, The World Arya Vysya Mahasabha, sought court’s direction to the CBI to register a case against Ilaiah for creating disturbance in the society.

The other petitioner, Vatsala from Prakasam district, alleged that Ilaiah had been misusing his position as professor. Instead of creating awareness among the people he was causing damage to the social fabric and national integrity. He was creating differences among the Hindus by resorting to provocation against members of the Brahmin and Vysya communities. Though a complaint was lodged at the Kanigiri police station in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on September 18 along with video clippings of the professor, no action had been taken by the police till date, she said and urged the court to direct the police to register case against the professor and take action forthwith.These petitions are expected to come up for hearing in a day or two.

Police thwart protest by Arya Vyshya

Siddipet: The police prevented the pada yatra launched by the Arya Vyshya community on Monday. The padayatra started from Gajwel to Hyderabad demanding forming of corporation with Rs 1,000 crore corpus fund for the welfare of Arya Vyshya community who are in poverty.  They met police seeking permission to allow them to hold padayatra, but police refused. Later, in the evening people in large numbers took out padayatra from Gajwel. When police got to know about this, they stopped them but people refused to listen and held protest on the national highway causing traffic jam.A meeting was held at Indira Park in Gajwel mandal headquarters. They demanded that writer Kancha Ilaiah should be arrested and his book should be banned. They demanded that a corporation should be formed for the development of community.
