Indian auto industry is primarily all about low budget fuel efficient cars, but in the same market there are some car enthusiasts with heavy pockets who wish to drive meanest and fastest performance vehicles. And to fulfill the dream of these people, carmakers across the globe try their luck in India by introducing such blazing machines that would make them fall in love. Though the high- end luxury cars mostly make their way to celebrities which counts to low figures, yet the love they gain from these buyers force automakers to launch smarter cars in the market. In the same spree to offer better vehicles, carmakers have made 2014 a year to remember by launching some of the technological upgraded and meanest cars. Here is a list of most luxurious and powerful cars introduced in the year 2014.

Audi RS7 – The year started with the launch of Audi RS7 in India at a price tag of Rs. 1.29 crore (ex-showroom). Tagged as company’s most powerful car in the Indian market, Audi RS7 adorns under its hood a 4.0-litre TFSI twin-turbo V8 powertrain. This powerful engine offers a whooping power output of 560bhp at 6700rpm and a peak torque of around 700Nm at 1750rpm. That means the car accelerates in no time and crosses 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds attaining the top speed of 250kmph. This iconic car delivers gigantic performance that casts terror on the other sports cars in the class. Bollywood star Salman Khan was the first buyer of Audi RS7 in India.

Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 – Another powerful car in the series that made its debut in the year 2014 was Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4. For the automaker, it was the apt time to say goodbye to Gallardo which served Lamborghini very well. Huracan is like a time machine – only faster. There are hardly any cars present that can beat the technology of Huracan. This car takes it power from a mid-placed 5.2-litre V10 engine that churns out colossal 610bhp and staggering 560Nm of peak torque. It is capable of getting to 100kmph from idle in just 3.2 seconds and can attain a top speed of 325kmph. The car comes at the price tag of Rs. 3.43 crore.

Mercedes Benz GLA and CLA 45 AMG – The German automaker Mercedes has been a preferred choice of the Indian customers and the carmaker knows very well how to settle the equations in Indian market. Knowing all the techniques of snatching market share in India, the automaker launched its two new performance cars- GLA 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG in 2014. Built on Mercedes Benz’s Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform, GLA and CLA 45 AMG gets a price tag of Rs. 69.60 lac and Rs. 68.50 lac respectively. Though two more launches including GL63 AMG and ML63 AMG were also made in 2014, the Merc CLA 45 AMG seems to be most loved as it is no less than a rocket.

BMW M Series (M6 Gran Coupe, M3, M4 & M5) – BMW is one more brand that has won many Indian hearts until now. On the same lines and in order to boost its M series, automaker launched revamped BMW M6 Gran Coupe followed by M5, M3 and M4 in 2014. Destined to lead in the race for performance, M6 coupe is powered with M TwinPower Turbo V8 petrol engine. While the highest priced car of the M segment is M6 Gran Coupe at Rs.1.75 crore, M5 takes no 2. with Rs 1.35 Crore price tag. The M3 & M4 were given the price tag of Rs. 1.19 Crore & Rs. 1.21 Crore respectively.
