Toyota is all set to cash in on the upcoming Holi festival or is rather allowing consumers to cash in as it is providing offers on some of its popular models. Festivals are always a great time for Indians not only because of what they represent and the ambience they bring, but also owing to the fact that a lot of attractive offers comes in at this point of time. Auto industry is no different, manufacturing firms understand that any festival season in India is a great opportunity to sell products and the best way to do that is to provide attractive offers.
The models from Toyota included in this Holi offer comprise of Etios Liva hatch, Etios Cross, Etios sedan and the premium model Toyota Corolla Altis and Innova MPV. Toyota has not provided these offers on any of the petrol trims and are available only for diesel variants while the last date for availing these is 31st March, 2015. What makes Toyota stand out from the rest is the fact that it is one of the few vehicle manufacturing firms that provide dual airbags for all of its portfolio as standard feature.
Mr. N Raja who is the Director and Senior Vice President of Toyota Kirloskar Motor for Sales and Marketing said that the firm wishes to "strengthen their bond with valuable customers" and "elevate their experience".
Toyota Etios Liva hatchback gives benefits of up to Rs. 25,000 including standard insurance at Rs. 1 along with Genuine accessories of Rs. 5000. On the other hand, Toyota does not offer anything with Etios Sedan on the insurance front although, here users would get Toyota's genuine accessories worth Rs. 20,000.
On Etios Cross, consumers derive a benefit of Rs. 30,000 with Toyota's Genuine Accessories of Rs. 8000 along with standard insurance at Rs. 1. On Innova, consumers get Genuine Accessories of Rs. 25,000.
This certainly would add to spice and give boost to the overall sales of Toyota. The carmaker is also doing very well in the sales section as this Indian wing of Japanese firm has reported a 17 percent increase in sales compared to previous year's performance. Toyota Kirloskar managed to sell 11,802 units in February 2015 as compared to last year's same time-frame tally of 10,100 units.
Also Toyota is planning to introduce a new C-segment car Vios for the Indian market in a bid to enhance its portfolio. The car was recently spied undergoing test mules hinting towards an early launch of the vehicle. Vios is also known as Yaris in some other countries and if launched in India, it would be powered by the same engine line-up that are serving Etios range of cars, but in tuned-up state. The petrol trim would employ a 1.5 liter engine while the diesel variant would get power from 1.4 liter D-4D motor. Vios aka Yaris comes mated with 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox.
Toyota has been making news for quite some time now with the Japanese firm producing hydrogen fuel running vehicle called Mirai which can go up to 300 miles per charge and can be charged in less than 5 minutes. The vehicle is able to deliver power of 153 hp. Currently, Toyota is manufacturing three Mirai per day for the first phase pricing the vehicle at $45,000. The successful electric car manufacturer Tesla does not have high opinion of Toyota's new project at the moment with Elon Musk calling the firm as hydrogen "fool cells". In January at Automotive News World Congress, Musk stated that making and storage of hydrogen is quite difficult. He further said that "hydrogen is an energy-storage mechanism" and "not a source of energy".
