CHENNAI: XEROX India, an arm of Xerox Corporation, is all set to strengthen its presence in South India with the release of an array of products to suit the colour print segment.
Speaking to this correspondent, Princy Bhatnagar, Director, Office Business Group, Xerox India, said that though the retail revolution had started from Chennai, there were lots of things happening in the corporate space in major towns in south which had made the company to push its products in the region of colour print segment.
Talking about the launch of three new products recently- Xerox WorkCentre 7425/ 7428/ 7435 - based on HI Q LED (light emitting diodes) technology to gain prominence in the 11-20 ppm category, Bhatnagar said that the products under Xerox WorkCentre 7400 series, Xerox India’s first offering in the category, were designed especially for SMBs, enterprises and the Government, besides the technology-driven people in the south.
“As part of the 14 city launch event, the company will engage with its channel partners and customers in key identified markets spread over Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Indore, Lucknow and Jaipur,’’ Bhatnagar added.
“The HI Q LED technology is an environment-friendly one that offers competitive advantage over cost with 20 per cent efficiency. The technology has numerous advantages over other printing technologies, including better edge enhancement, high quality image resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi, better registration, colour correction and half-toning enhancement, thereby making it the preferred printing choice for customers,” he said.
“According to IDC Q I 2009, the overall market size for A3 colour and monochrome printers is at Rs 943 crore,” Bhatnagar said and added that there would be a foreseeable shift in demand from 1-10 ppm product category to 11-20 ppm category within the next six to 10 months.
“Xerox WorkCentre 7400 series will take care of the upcoming demand and enable Xerox India its market share in the segment. The 11-20 ppm category is expected to grow at 30 per cent for the next three years and the company’s strategy is to lead the space by offering superior technology to its customers,” he said.
