Talking to this correspondent about the company’s foray into south, Gautam Nath, Chief Executive Officer, Indian Sub-Continent, said that the company had taken a solid position in freight forwarding, both at domestic and global level, and that was the reason why it had commissioned an office in Chennai on Thursday.

He also said that the company that carried a legacy of over 50 years in terms of providing professional services to over 5000 exporters and importers all over the country had turned its focus on south also and the opening of Chennai office on Thursday had made the company leverage its position in southern cities also.

“Apart from our presence in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, we are also focusing on tier I and tier II cities like Coimbatore and Tirupattur, for widening our business activity,’’ Nath said and added that the joint venture with GeoPost in mid-May would strengthen DPD Continentals position in the global market and its ambition to reach 3 or 4 million Euros in another two to three years.
