CHENNAI: After selling a million pieces in Europe, Nick India, the number one kids’ entrainment channel, in partnership with Simba Dickie Group, the world’s largest toy company, is preparing the ground for   marketing one lakh pieces of the innovative toy ‘Squap,’ the ultimate ‘chuck and catch’ game, in India in year one.

With Karisma Kapur as the brand ambassador of Squap, the creators of the product Gregor Altenburger and Urs Robustelli are confident that the new sport can take India by storm, all because of its ability to entertain people in the age group of six to 60.

Now, the message is very clear. Squap, the No1 selling outdoor toy in Germany, has now arrived in India. This hot new ‘chuck and catch’ toy promises to offer excitement not only to kids, but also to a whole lot of adults alike!

Pradeep Parmar, Business Head, India, Simba Toys India Private Limited, in an interaction with this correspondent, said that the company with a network of 25 distributors across India would be aiming high on the promotion of Squap in a market-driven economy, of course with a special focus on the growing retail segment in South India.

“Squap is a new and unique sport. It’s simple, easy and fun. You can play Squap at a volleyball court, on the beach, in the garden or even in your own room. It will definitely challenge anyone’s unhealthy life. We are really happy that Nick India and Simba Toys are introducing Squap to the Indian market,’’ said Gregor and Urs, who managed to develop the product after toiling hard for six solid years.

Pradeep Parmar also said, “Our association with Nick is a perfect platform to launch the brand that is synonymous with fun and entertainment.’’

The game is priced at `699.

“The Group’s range of toy products by now comprises more than 3,000 articles. A modern logistics centre with around 75,000 square metres of floor space in Germany alone distributes toys all over the world,’’ Pradeep Parmar said.

Simba has successfully set its footprint in Middle East in the year 2002. Under the guidance of Ben Nabert, the company carries well over 4.000 SKUs which all are produced under the supervision and under the safety-standards of German-based Simba-Dickie Group.

The Group has its production facilities in Europe as well as in Far East and hosts besides famous brands Simba and Dickie.

In India, Simba is planning to import toys and distribute them to major retailers like Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, Pantaloon, Big Bazaar, Landmark, Hamelys, Odyssey, Mom & Me and many more.
