Even though cash-strapped Kingfisher Airlines (KfA) announced that it had initiated salary payments dues, the disgruntled employees on Wednesday rejected the management’s offer and demanded payment of four months’ backlog in lumpsum before Friday to resume work.

Employees of KfA confirmed that nearly 60% of employees were paid for the month of March. “Most of us who were paid for March cannot expect any money from the company on October 26,” a pilot told Express.

According to agency reports, employees are reported to have said that nearly 90% of employees had rejected the offer by the company.  KfA CEO Sanjay Aggarwal, in his latest letter, claimed that ‘most’ of their employees had sent their confirmation to report to work on Friday. He said, “We have received several requests asking for status of salary for the duration of partial lock-out period and asking for salary in December 2012 to be paid one week earlier than December 31, 2012.”

Further, he wrote, “I am pleased to confirm that as a goodwill gesture the company will pay full October salary to all employees and we commit to paying the same prior to Christmas.”

Reports suggested that employees were divided on the issue as many had rejected the offer, while some of them had volunteered to resume work.

Meanwhile, pilots from Bangalore said that most of them were ready to report back to work on Friday. “We don’t see any point in dragging this any further. Most of the pilots we communicated with have decided to get back to work at the earliest,” a pilot told Express.
