India Postsaid Wednesday it was offering special Rakhi envelopes across its post officesin Delhi on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan falling on Aug 2, 2012.
Priced at Rs.7, these envelops have been made waterproof in order to avoid anydamage to them in this rainy season.
"For the benefit and convenience of its customers India Post has venturedto serve better by value addition to its core services," the Ministry ofCommunications and IT said in a statement.
"The special features of these Rakhi envelopes include excellent strength,tear resistance, light weight and elegant printability. These are available insize 11 cms x 22 cms and in different colours," it added.
The envelope flaps have peel and seal mechanism to protect Rakhi from damages.
The word "Rakhi" is written in english on the left hand top on thefront side with India Post logo.
