HYDERABAD: Internet domain name registrar GoDaddy will focus on small and medium businesses to fuel its growth in India. The US-based company, which has over 7.5 lakh customers, has entered its fifth year and has launched customer engagement programme on the occasion.

“India is the second biggest market for us after the US. Therefore, it is of huge importance to us not just in terms of growth prospects but also in terms of scaling up and steeping up our services. We have been learning from the Indian market and implementing the lessons learnt here in other markets. While India accounts for about 40 per cent of our total business, we have huge growth plans for the country as it is still largely under-served. We see India as a bedrock for our growth,” Andrew Low Ah Kee, executive vice-president, GoDaddy International said.

He noted that India has 51 million small businesses, and “As these small business will start leveraging technology, we are focusing on services suiting their needs. We have grown from a size of 40 to 700 over the past five years in India. As our customer base is set to increase we will even add more number of staff,” he added.

GoDaddy provides domain registration, hosting, and website building services aimed at providing online presence for businesses.
