Hyundai unveils new version of Verna

NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Tuesday launched a new version of its mid-sized sedan Verna with introductory price starting at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) to take on Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz and Honda City, which are priced between Rs 7.65 and Rs 13.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) in the mid-sized sedan segment.

The introductory prices will be applicable for the first 20,000 customers only. “We will take a price increase after 20,000 units,” said Rakesh Srivastava, director (sales & marketing), HMIL.
The petrol variant will be available for Rs 7.99-12.23 lakh and the diesel vehicle for Rs 9.19-12.61 lakh. The latest model comes with various features such as sun-roof, rear curtain, six airbags, eco-coating for air-conditioning vents and rear parking sensors.

HMIL sold 3.17 lakh units of the sedan in India since the introduction of the model in 2006 and about 88 lakh units globally.
