BANGALORE: As you enter Wilson Garden, you feel you have entered a marble city. Tile Italia, Manish Marbles & Granites, Bharath Marbles, and many more line the entire KS Garden Road. Like every other area in Bangalore, however, Wilson Garden has has many faces to it as it has Crosses and Mains.
Connectivity
Wilson Garden is considered to be among the older residential areas in Bangalore. It is well-connected to the rest of the city by the BTS Main Road and buses to all parts of the city are frequent from the BTS bus depot. It is considered to be a pensioner paradise and has a liberal number of PG accommodations too. Recreation-wise Wilson Garden has some of the most prominent places in Bangalore a stone’s throw away from it: The Lalbagh and Lakkasandra Lake are some places to getaway to from Wilson Garden. The place is also referred to as Hombegowda Nagar, though Wilson Garden is the name that has stuck. As it is just 4-5 km away from MG Road and about 6 km away from Majestic, it is an ideal place to be if you want to be in the thick of things but not quite in it too at the same time.
Help is at hand
The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Institute of Chest Diseases, is in the centre of a storm due to the Swine Flu incidents in the city, is close to Wilson Garden. Other than that, the area has Abhaya hospital which is well-known for its psychiatric care abilities. A large number of schools including KJ High School, Hombe Gowda Boys High School, Holy Crescent English School, make it a favourite residential area for families.
Hungry kya
Mirchi Darbar or Mayflower is a famous eating joint offering Afghan, Chinese and Continental food. Other than that there are your usual neighbourhood eating joints like Vijay Sagar and Gowri Shankar, but because of its proximity to Koramangala, an evening of fine dining will not be an issue at all.
