BANGALORE: Senior IPS officer D V Guruprasad on Saturday took charge as Director General of Police of Corps of Detectives from his predecessor Ajay Kumar Singh.

Speaking to The New Indian Express , he shared his vision to make CoD as one of the best detective agencies in the country.  He explained his vision for the agency, which includes improvement in  the investigation skills of officers and strengthening of different cells like forest cell, drugs and narcotics cell, economic offences wing etc.

"I want to get all the persons found involved in crimes to be convicted," he said. A1976-batch IPS officer, Guruprasad has served as SP in three districts, DIGforest range and Police Commissioner of Hubli/ Dharwad. He has also served as Commissioner of Information Department, ADGP of Intelligence and Training and Recruitments of Police.

In his tenure as ADGP in Training and Recruitment Cell, an all-time record recruitment of 13,000 police constables and 750 PSIs was achieved. He is also credited with the division of KSRTC into four corporations when he headed the KSRTC as DIG.
