BANGALORE: Two friends were murdered by a three-member gang, in Devanahalli police station limits on Tuesday night. The two friends, Munegowda (30) and Subramani (25), had registered a case against the trio in an assault case three years ago and the trial is still pending in court. The trio wanted to settle the pending case through mediation. But the victims rejected the plan.

The gang beheaded Munegowda’s head and chopped of the hands and legs of Subramani, resulting in their death. The accused are Harish, Shekhar and Lokesh of the same area, i.e., Devanahalli town.

Munegowda and Subramani were asked to come near Sharavana Road in Devanahalli for mediation again. But, the duo again rejected their request and this enraged the accused. They attacked Munegowda and Subramani, resulting in their death, police said.

Interestingly, one Mohan Kumar went to Subramani’s house for returning back some money, before the incident.

He noticed Subramani and Munegowda lying in a pool of blood with their body parts chopped off. Kumar also identified the accused who were trying to escape.

The accused then tried to attack and kill him with a weapon. However, Kumar escaped. He suffered injuries on his hand.

Devanahalli police have registered a case against the accused and are searching for them. They have also taken the statement of Mohan.

Man says brothers-in law tried to kill him

A 36-year-old man filed a complaint against his brothers-in-law alleging they tried to kill him after he refused to live with them leaving his parents.

B Ravi, an employee with Kirloskar factory, alleged that the in-laws married off his wife to another man, after he refused to oblige them.

Ravi, with a fractured left leg, was admitted to Ananya hospital in Rajajinagar. He has filed a complaint with Subramanyapura police station.

According to him, he was married to Manjula, six years back and has a fiveyear- old son Darshan.

“A few months after the marriage, the in-laws started forcing me to live with them, leaving my aged parents alone. I refused to do so, following which Manjula and Darshan left me and started staying with Manjula’s parents,” he complained.

“I approached my in-laws several times so that I can bring her back. But her brother started pestering me to stay at their place. They started issuing threats when I refused to leave my parents and beat me up,” he said.

Ravi has filed an attempt to murder case twice, in Vyyalikaval and Subramanyapura police stations, in this regard.

“My brothers-in-law threatened to get me killed by goonda elements. But I did not take it seriously,” Ravi said in his complaint.

On Tuesday, Ravi who was on his way home on his friend’s bike was knocked off by a speeding car near Vidyavardhaka School. “I noticed my brother-in-law Nagaraj and Ramachandra were in the car and they sped away as soon as passers-by came to my rescue,” he said.

Ravi was immediately shifted to Ananya Hospital.

He is said to be out of danger.

“They wanted to kill me and make it look like an accident,” Ravi told the police.
