BANGALOREL: The Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) aims to use the Lok Sabha elections as a platform for a political-ideological battle as other Communist parties have turned into advocates of capitalism, said K Radhakrishna, State Secretary of SUCI.

Radhakrishna was speaking at the 61st Foundation Day celebration of SUCI on Sunday. “Comrade Shibdas Ghosh, founder of SUCI, had realized as early as in 1948 that the undivided CPI was not a genuine Communist party, which motivated him to found SUCI. We still remain it is the only true Communist party,” he said.

Criticising the capitalist system, Radhakrishna said the current economic recession is driven by the urge for maximum profit.

“Exploitation of workers and job cuts lead to lesser purchasing power, which causes the economy to collapse.

Marx was the first to explain this phenomenon and imperialist nations are now studying Marxist literature to solve their problems,” he said.

Radhakrishna emphasised the need for a socialist revolution and said that the party had received an overwhelming response from the people during their election campaign.

SUCI has fielded five candidates from Karnataka in the LS elections.
