THIS is the third film of Adarsha as a director-cum-artiste, the other two being Dumbee and Nage Habba. With Hushaar, Adarsha has one more achievement, he has composed the music as well.
The film takes off well with a few horror scenes that can frighten children.
But, he gradually loses control and allows the characters to stray for a while. However, he has handled the megaphone very well during the postintermission session.
Adarsha has tried to showcase his potential as a director and has also shown his ability to speak dialogues in various languages which is aimed at the front-benchers.
Mallika Kapur has nothing to do in this film except smile and mouth a few dialogues. Hushaar is the third Kannada film for Mallika. Her other films are Savi Savi Nenapu and Ganga Cavery. It is unfortunate that Mallika is yet to realise the importance of performance.
Anand attempts to tickle the funny bone but a particular scene where a crow troubles him is not up to the mark. Vikram Udayakumar has to go a long way to establish himself as an actor.
A few of the forest scenes are on par with Ram Gopal Varma’s horror films. Credit must go to Adarsha for providing such impressive background music.
The story is about Viswas (Adarsha), a CoD officer, who comes to Somanahalli on the pretext of doing a research on agriculture. He happens to save Akshata (Mallika Kapur), the daughter of ZP chairman Rudre Gowda (Vikram Udayakumar) from an embarrassment. As expected, she falls in love with Viswas instantly.
Meanwhile, a group of youngsters get killed in peculiar circumstances.
The climax is how Viswas succeeds in arresting the culprit behind the killings.
Had Adarsha selected a few experienced artistes, the film would have been a lot better.
