Actor Ramesh Aravind sees beauty in nature

What are your spiritual beliefs?

When your thoughts, words and actions all three are in line and no discrepancy between them, and you are neither averse nor too attached to anything, you feel all is well with world and yourself. Undoubtedly a positive attitude backed by enthusiasm  towards everything adds up great energy to life.

What is your understanding of God?

I think God is a collective name for everything that mind cannot understand or something beyond our logic and reason. Life and nature are too complicated to fall into patterns the human mind expects to and so God is wonderful way to explain it all. The concept of God gives so much of hope. I like the idea of a bigger force you submit to. It humbles you.

What are your spiritual practices?

The best spiritual practice is to treat each and every person you interact with love, respect and trust. That’s my idea of spiritual practice.

Do you visit any pilgrimage place?

I don’t have favourite pilgrim centre. I have found not just great temples like Belur and Halebid, but also the wonders of nature like the Alps, Himalayas, Niagara and Brahmaputra. These are places that fill you with joy and serenity. A thing of beauty or any place where you are wanted and loved becomes a pilgrim centre.

Ramesh has made a name for himself in south Indian films, some of the memorable ones being the Kannada film Amrutha Varshini with Suhasini Manirathnam and the Tamil film Panchatantram with Kamal Hassan, among others. His directorial debut titled Rama Shama Bhama starring Kamal Hassan became a hit.
