BANGALORE: ‘Kaalittali Kaludaari,’ an anthology of stories written by Sumangala has been selected for the annual Dr Besagarahalli Ramanna Award given for the best collection of stories.

The award will be presented on September 26 at a function in Mandya, the native district of noted writer late Besagarahalli Ramanna. A release issued by Dr K Puttaswamy, president of the Dr Besagarahalli Ramanna Prathisthana, said the selection committee comprising H S Ramachandre Gowda and C Naganna selected Sumangala’s collection of stories for 2009.

The award comprises a cash prize of `15,000, a memento and a citation.
