BANGALORE: A passing out parade of 75 Aeronautical Engineers Course was held at the Air Force Technical College (AFTC) on Friday.

The passing out parade marked the culmination of 72 weeks of training in Aeronautical Engineering, Military Leadership, Managerial Skills and ethos of an air warrior.

There were 134 officers, including 39 women officers and five officers from friendly foreign countries, who passed out after one year of training at AFTC.

Air Marshal KK Nohwar, Air Officer Commanding -in-Chief, Eastern Air Command of IAF, who reviewed the passing out parade, said engineers played a critical role in maintenance of aircraft and ground-based equipment.

He said an engineer in the IAF was one of the key elements in the field of aviation and an important pillar of flight safety.

He stressed upon the need for engineers to treat the hardships of life as learning platform for improvement.

He advised the passing out officers to take service to the nation as a challenge, lead from the front, be professional, set example and maintain integrity and professionalism.

He called upon the young officers to imbibe team work that demands meticulous preparation with precision and timing followed by impeccable execution and clear command and control.

He awarded trophies and medallions to officers who excelled in the course.

The prestigious “President’s Plaque” for the Best All Round Officer was awarded to Flying Officer Ronak Sharma and the “Vice President’s Sword” for the Best Air Warrior in the course was given to Flying Officer A Raghuraman.
