BANGALORE: Actress Ranjitha has charged Lenin, the former car driver of Swami Nithyananda, of attempt to rape, extortion and actions intended to insult the modesty of women, in the private complaint she lodged against him in the Ramanagaram district court.

She has also revealed in the complaint that depressed by the episode, she tried to end her life several times.

She has also accused two other persons, Aarthi Rao, a resident of Michigan in Unites States of America and a devotee of Swami Nithyananda, and M Sridhar, an advocate in Chennai and an accomplice of Lenin.

In the complaint, Ranjitha has said she attended the discourses of Nithyananda and realised that his discourses and training methods were reformative.

She had also decided to direct and produce a documentary film titled "Influence of Hindu Religious Leaders Globally" and was keen to start the project with the swami.

While staying at the ashram, Lenin allegedly approached her and said: "You will go for tours only with the Swami? Why not come with an ordinary person like me? I have been a great fan of yours from your first film 'Nadodi Thendral'."

Ranjitha's complaint says some ashramites alerted her that he took photos of Brahmacharinis in the ashram to morph them with photos of celebrities.

On February 13, 2010, Lenin allegedly showed Ranjitha some poorly shot videos of him molesting two Brahmacharinies. When Ranjitha said she would complain to Nithyananda, he showed her pictures of a woman resembling herself getting intimate with a person resembling Swami Nithyananda.

Ranjitha's complaint says Lenin also tried to rape her but did not succeed as somebody knocked on the door hearing her screams. Lenin allegedly threatened to kill her and release the photos to the media.

The complaint says on February 20, Sridhar started negotiations with Nithya Pranananda and demanded Rs 20 crore. Ranjitha and her lawyer friends reportedly planned to tip off the police when the three accused came to Bidadi to collect money.

Suspecting that they would be trapped, Lenin released the morphed visuals to the media on March 2, says the complaint.
