BANGALORE: The Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind (KWAB) will conduct a two-day workshop on career guidance for the visually challenged students who have passed SSLC and II PUC in the academic year 2010-2011, on August 29-30.
The organisation, affiliated to All India Confederation of the Blind, New Delhi and National Society for Equal Opportunities for the Handicapped, Mumbai is looking forward to impart sense of direction in students which would further help in shaping up their career. The participants will be provided boarding, lodging and transportation facilities from and to the venue of workshop from Bangalore city railway station and bus stand.
Students who have secured 80 per cent and above in their exams will be felicitated.
Several faculties and eminent people from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi will give motivational lectures to the students.
As per the figures from KWAB, over 400 students are eligible for participation in this programme and 185 have already registered.
However, the organisation is expecting not less than 300 students and is sure of making this event a big success, thereby providing productive sessions to the students.
Those who have passed SSLC and II PUC in the academic year 2010-2011 should send their details such as full name, postal address, telephone/mobile number, a copy of the marks card and a copy of certificate of blindness to The General Secretary, The Karnataka Welfare Association for the Blind, No. 69, 1st main, Nehrunagar, Seshadripuram, Bangalore-560020.
